Lindsay Cullen / Forest Lune - Flower Power 2025
I have seen this wildflower throughout Alberta many times and taken pictures of it not knowing it's name until I created this poster design. I am drawn to it's long frail petal shape and whispy appearance. Flowers are my favourite thing to illustrate due to their organic shapes and pretty colours. Flowers always take me back to Art Nouveau, which is one of my main artistic inspirations. For this poster I went with a very Art Nouveau esque flowing border inspired by the shapes of the Showy Aster. I often like to stylize and simplify flowers based on their visual personality, in which case here I emphasized the Showy Aster's whispy appearance and long shapes. The font is hand-drawn and also meant to emphasize the organic nature of the flower.
Lindsay (aka Forest.Lune) is an Illustrator/artist from Calgary AB. Her work is inspired by organic shapes, florals, retro motifs, patterns, music, and the nature around us. Lindsay aims to create lively illustrations that can enhance any space they reside!
