Flower Power
Flower Power: Poster Exhibition & Artist Flea Market
Join us for Flower Power, a vibrant celebration of local creativity, community, and connection!
Our poster exhibition showcases the incredible talents of emerging artists and designers from Calgary, offering them a platform to share their work, explore new creative pursuits, and build lasting relationships within the local arts community.
Alongside the exhibition, our Artist Flea Market invites you to discover and support local artists selling their original artwork, handmade goods, and creative supplies. It's a unique opportunity for artists to connect directly with the community, while visitors can experience a free art show, shop for affordable art, and meet the makers behind the work.
Located outside Calgary’s downtown core, Greenview Industrial is often overlooked in traditional arts programming. Flower Power helps bridge that gap, offering free access to visual art and community engagement in a welcoming, accessible neighborhood setting. Whether you’re an art lover, a community builder, or just looking for a fun day out, everyone is invited to come explore, connect, and celebrate creativity with us!
- Free admission
- Local artists and vendors
- Music, art, and community vibes

Get ready for a Palentines Art Show like no other!
Join us for an afternoon of art that's all about love – the messy, funny, and real kind. Grab your pals and come as you are for a vibe that's as relaxed as your favorite hoodie. Better yet bring along a shirt, and we'll help you slap a heart on it with our cool DIY printing activity. It's art, it's love, and it's as easygoing as a Sunday brunch. Let's make some memories, wear our hearts on our sleeves (literally), and celebrate the realness of Palentines at Burnt Toast Studio!

LACE + LEGHAIR
Lace + Leghair - A Euphoric Exploration of Gender Outside the Binary
Ash Adams is a trans nonbinary artist, advocate, and educator who grew up in rural Nova Scotia. The artist currently lives and works in Mohkinstsis, Calgary.
They graduated from the Alberta College of Art + Design in 2018 with a BFA majoring in ceramics.
Adams is co-founder of Superbloom Collective, a collective that focuses on creating empathetic and connective artworks and pedagogies through public art, mural work, and the facilitation of workshops. The artist is also part of Basic Income Calgary Arts Collective, which is made up of ten artists representing the Artists with Disabilities (AWD) community.
My recent work expresses ideas around choices and mortality as well as identity and the body. I explore concepts of gender through acrylic paintings, mixed media sculptural tableaux and murals. I use my expertise in ceramics to cast parts of my body to manipulate ideas and tell stories. I have a high attention to detail and a fascination with colour. Bright high-contrast colours are employed to create complex backgrounds with a pulsing effect, creating a unique visual experience. I using acrylic paints arrange objects on explosive coloured backgrounds. I want my work to overwhelm and hypnotize the viewer. The backgrounds create an optical illusion, and manipulating my reference images allows me to influence the narrative. I intend to continue my exploration of immersive gallery spaces through detailed works and removable wall coverings, allowing me to integrate the surfaces of the gallery into the installation. And inviting the audience to fully immerse themselves in the colourful, stimulating, vibrating experience.

LITTER - Evan Brien
A long walk down back alleys on a sunny day, a found treasure most would consider trash, and something silly that makes me crack a smile nevertheless. These are the things that ground me and excite me about day to day life, and what I attempt to capture in the artwork I make: presenting themselves as bizzaro wayfinding signage for the back alley of the mind. Humor, a glimpse into the history of space over time, and an introspective look into the process of life, are all aspects that characterize my work through the use of layering found material, uncomplicated imagery, and hand painted lettering onto and throughout each other, tied together with a thin string of narrative. Most often the artwork has a hand in creating itself as I take cues in theme and subject from the found materials themselves; building off of a combination of their colour, texture, original purpose, and the area in which they were found Recurring themes and imagery appear throughout each piece of artwork that give a sense of a continuation of the story. I am interested in ideas surrounding my experiences and those that can be characterized of the working class: monotony, the ebb and flow between comfort and struggle, definitions of success and individual purpose, and the effect that the passing of time has on all these concepts and the way they can be parallelled by the physical nature of found materials and the untold/disregarded history tied to them. - Evan Brien

Words of Affirmation Poster Show 2021
The Words of Affirmation Show was an Alberta-based poster show featuring inspirational slogans. In a world often overwhelmed by negativity and the heaviness of the times we thought we would inject the community with the power of positive words to inspire and transform through spreading messages of encouragement and self-worth presented in partnership with Kaffee Klatsch.
Each carefully crafted poster combines captivating visuals with carefully chosen words, creating a space where viewers can find solace and rediscover their inner strength. This exhibition serves as a reminder that we are deserving of love, happiness, and fulfillment. We invite you to immerse yourself in this collection and let these words become beacons of light, guiding you towards a place of empowerment and gratitude!
Let these posters inspire conversations and acts of kindness, as we collectively create a world that celebrates and supports one another.
Thank you to all the artists participants:
