Kate is an industrial designer and artist based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Often taking inspiration from Alberta’s ecosystems, many of her designs are inspired by nature with a healthy dose of absurdism and humour. The idea of “Chicken of the Woods” pretty much just comes from the colloquial name of the mushroom Laetiporus sulphureus, and imagines how a fungus with such a regal title as “chicken of the woods” might appear as a spirit of the forest.
